While India is an amazing country with vibrancy and diversity as its hallmark, I feel the biggest problem with India is it’s people (NOT everyone, but quite a lot of them). Allow me to explain…
I am sure, the below would have been experienced by many of you:
- An Indian would throw away garbage on the streets, and complain about the municipal corporations not doing a great job with keeping their city clean.
- An Indian would give a Rs.100 bribe to a traffic policemen, and later whine about the prevalent corruption in India.
- An Indian will discriminate against other Indians (on the basis of caste, religion, language, state) and complain about discord amongst fellow Indians.
- An Indian will haggle with a poor roadside vendor over meagre prices and but say “Keep the change” while shopping in malls.
- An Indian will not vote citing that their solitary vote will have no bearing on the final outcome, but will always complain about politicians and governance.
- An Indian will have no qualms in employing their family members and relatives in their ventures, but will be outraged about nepotism everywhere else.
Hope you get the drift with the above examples.
As a mindset coach, I really wish that Indian improve their “Indian” mindsets.
Soch badlo, desh badlega! (Chande your mindset, to change your country)
I love, admire and respect India and want it to excel in all avenues. And it can excel, only if it’s people excel.
